Please note: Sportsbook.com is “Currently Rated D” on the SBP Sportsbook Rating Guide?

10-17-2007 Rating Change: Sportsbook.com, and other Jazette owned sportsbooks, were downgraded from C+ to D after they unjustly confiscated at least $280,000 from at least 31 of their clients. Their attempt to justify this was by saying the bets made were correlated paralys and this was against their (vaguely stated) rules. Read more on this subject.

Let us be honest and upfront. There are some significant reasons that Sportsbook.com is rated only a C+ even before being now downgraded further to a D rating on the SBP rating guide. The main concern regarding Sportsbook.com is the company’s history of slow cash out complaints. Ultimately in the end players do get paid but its usually after waiting quite some time.

While there are some negative things about Sportsbook.com there are also many positive things as well. If you’re the type of bettor who plays small ($5-$100 per game) and does not mind waiting a while for your cash outs, you might consider patronizing Sportsbook.com for the following reasons:

#1 Sportsbook.com runs tons of high value free contests. Available only to their regulars. #2 They offer increased parlay odds every single Monday, #3 Sportsbook.com offers -105 pricing on NFL and NBA games every Friday, #4 Sportsbook.com offers lots of promotions and free bets. It seems like every week or two active clients will get an email offering them a $10 free prop bet or some other type of bonus. #5 Sportsbook.com offers regular reload bonus offers.

I could go on and on about all the great features and promotions sportsbook.com has to offer. Personally I don’t mind waiting a while for cash outs to reach me so I’ll use Sportsbook.com from time to time while betting small. Some of the received benefits I value higher than the risks associated with playing at a lower rated sportsbook.

The one thing we do not suggest doing is taking shots at sportsbook.com. If you’re the type who likes to wager $50 to win $5,000 on crazy future bets or many team parlays/teasers your best bet for this is using a book like Wager Web or Intertops.

The reason we suggest this is because Sportsbook.com has delayed payouts. If you hit a big score, we don’t think you want to spend the next 3-8 weeks agonizing over when your check will arrive.

Sportsbook.com domain is worth many millions of dollars. The company has been in business since 1996. In our personal opinion the sites who rate them an F are taking things a bit to far. If it was not for this recent issue over correlated parlay winnings confiscated dating back 6 weeks we would consider them to be a solid C book. With any C book however you should realize that their is always some risk to your funds. Proper bankroll management is advised at all times.

Sportsbook Corporate Information

Sportsbook.com was originally launched ten years ago by World Gaming Network, and is today, one of the largest sportsbooks to be found online. Sportsbook.com wasn’t the first online sportsbook, but they were one of the fastest growing, the most respected, and well, they kept it simple. It’s the simplicity that made it easy for sports bettors to find them and easy for them to build one of the worlds largest online databases of sports bettors in the industry.

Sportsbook .Com has been a leader in online gaming since it was established in 1996. Since then it has twice been named Best US Sports Book by eGaming Review as one of the industries top magazines. In July of 2001 SportingBet purchased Sportsbook.com giving them yet another title, one of the biggest publicly traded companies on the exchange, under the symbol LSE SBT.

All this recognition has not been ignored as Sportsbook.com has been featured CBS 60 Minutes, CNN, ESPN, Wall Street Journal, Barrons, Financial Times, USA Today and in every major newspaper in the US.

After the Unlawful Gaming Enforcement Act was passed in late 2006, Sportsbook.com was sold for just $1, of coarse anyone with common sense would speculate there was likely more to the deal behind the scenes. Whatever the case might be since this sale was made the companies processing time has been quite slow. While they are still one of the largest online sportsbook one would not know it based on their payment processing department.
