I’ve been eying these Thursday night games all week but decided to see what the touts were on and how the lines would move before making my decision. I’m feeling good about a 2-0 day here on my two Thursday night college football picks. I’ve been on a messed up sleep schedule waking up at 5 or 6 AM each day so I’m very tired right now. No long write up tonight just the picks:

Maryland +17.5 -125 (I bought points at Bet Jam to get this line)
Air Force +8.5 (this line is available at Bodog – it is +8 a bunch of other places and I’d still play it at 8 still if Bodog is not an option).

Well this day did not start off so hot. I suppose there is still a chance in these early games but it is not looking good. I have one play on the 4PM games that is going to make up for it all. While this is some what of a chaser play this was one of four possible plays that has been on my list since Friday. Anyways here is the play:

Lets start off with 2 NFL picks that I’ve felt good about all week and have been waiting to place at the best line possible.

New York Jets +6.5 at home against the Patriots (+109 @ Matchbook)

First of all the money is heavily on New England here; The Pats are everyones preseason pick to go all the way.

Without needing to say anything further: NEVER bet a road favorite opening week in the NFL. The home dog and heavy public action on the Pats is enough to make this a play on the Jets for sure, but here is some more thoughts:

Well after watching the first half of the Michigan game I realize now I was way off taking Michigan -6.5 in this game.

I am completely shocked to see this line as:

Michigan -6

Michigan -240

This seems absolutely nuts to me. Michigan is trailing by 25 points after getting completely embarrassed last week. The season is completely over to them right now. What possibly could the coach tell them during half time that is going to motivate them to come out and play hard now?

I’m going big on Oregon +220 for the second half.

I searched all across the board for a couple good NCAA picks tonight. You guys who like betting televised games will like my plays.

Michigan -6.5 at home over Oregon
Notre Dame +18 at Bodog

There are only 2 places I could find both of the lines above.

5 Dimes is hanging the best Michigan line with other books all having them at -7
IMO Michigan is only a play at -6.5 or better

Notre Dame +18 is available at Bodog.
Everywhere else has them at +17.5 that’s fine. This is a play at that line or better.

I’ve been stressing all week over this Saints @ Colts 2007 NFL Season opener. Let me just say I’m glad I’m running a free picks blog and not working as a professional tout. I don’t see enough value anywhere on the board tonight.
