This has been a great football season so far. Those following my picks so far on this blog have went 18-10 for +12.33 units of profit (as a side note we are also 13-5 in the NFL for +9.47 units). We are now approaching the time of the season the games start to become more meaningful. We won’t see as many soft spots on the board this time of the year, but we’ll be able to better quantify our edges but working with more accurate in season data. When I first started looking at this weeks lines It was a bit scary because a lot of the plays I liked this week are going to be on the same side that I suspect a lot of the square action will be on. I’m not going to change my picks for that reason alone but I am most likely going to stick to just single unit plays this week.

I wish every week was like week 6 of the college football season. We have a nationally televised game every night this week. With only one game on the board each night I will hopefully get a chance to pick apart each one and see if I can find value on one side or the other. So far I’ve completed one games analysis and come up with a solid 1 unit play.

Coming off a 5-1 day in college football where I did not take a single team that was favored by more than 1 point. I’m doing the exact same in the NFL this week on straight plays plus on a teaser.

We’re coming off an impressive 5-1 NFL Sunday and are back with another set of free picks to continue this win streak into Week 3.

This week I’m not falling in love with any of these games by any means but I do have a solid 4 game line up of two 1 unit plays and two half unit plays which I consider to have significant value.

The games I like the most are ones where I’m going against the public on home underdogs.

I was thinking last night that it would be extremely likely that I make a bet on Wisconsin in the 2nd half. This game turned out even more ideal then I expected in terms of a half time bet, with them trailing 3-0 with 1:45 left in the half. If this score holds its likely there will be some value in a 2nd half bet.

I’m releasing a 2 unit play for this Saturday which deserves its very own post in this blog. The game were looking at is Iowa +7 at Wisconsin. This game opened at Bookmaker.com with the Badgers being a 9.5 point favorite. It did not take long for the sharps to jump all over Iowa and bet them down to being only a 7.5 favorite the next day. Most sportsbooks that opened their college football lines up for betting on Monday or Tuesday started the number at Badgers -8 or -7.5 where the line stayed until the public action started to poor in on Hawkeyes during the early part of the day on Friday.

Our fast start in college football is rapidly fading but we’re still riding strong with an overall record of 11-6.  This week I spent a lot of extra time capping games, reading forums, watching sports sites, checking betting stats etc. I sat here earlier this evening with my head absolutely spinning from information overload.

After six hours of just relaxing and clearing my head I told myself this “You know how to pick winners, you’ve been doing it for years. Forget all the leans, expert opinions and just analyze the facts”. After doing just this I feel really confident about this weeks plays.

By now most everyone in the world knows OJ Simpson is in trouble again. In case you’ve been living inside a box the past couple weeks and are not familiar with the whole ordeal OJ was recently arrested as a suspect in an armed robbery investigation. He has now been arraigned and released on $125,000 bail.
